Civil Marriages

Civil Marriages are solemnized at the Mesa Geitonia Municipality pursuant to the 2003 Marriages Law 104 (Ι).

The parties concerned should contact in person the Municipal Secretariat in order to be updated on the necessary documents they have to produce and have their marriage solemnized. Marriages may be solemnized between Cypriots, between Aliens or between Cypriots and Aliens.

When the parties concerned have produced all the documents as required, the marriage solemnization is anticipated by a wedding announcement duly published. In this event, the marriage may be solemnized 15 days after the announcement date but not later than three months, either through an accelerated procedure and therefore the marriage may be solemnized immediately after applying (on the same day if the future spouses wish so), but not later than 15 days.
